NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – Providence Health and Fitness in New Providence is offering a six-week summer body shred to begin May 10 through June 20. This inclusive package includes a complete nutritional program with fitness classes. You will receive recipes, menus, meal plans, and a shopping list in addition to the live or virtual fitness classes.
“The program is focused on the body around lifestyle change that they’ll keep using,” said Kathy McCready, owner of Providence Health and Fitness.

“We feel like a lot of people gained [weight during the pandemic], they call it the COVID-19,” said Debra Karrat, Providence Helath and Fitness Athletic Trainer & Nutrition Specialist. “They’re saying that they gained a lot of weight and lost a lot of their body and themselves through the COVID. This is just a chance for them to get their body back to feel leaner, to get stronger, and to learn how to eat properly. I’m going to teach people how to take care of their bodies in a more efficient way,” said Debra Karrat, Providence Health and Fitness Athletic Trainer & Nutrition Specialist.
“The program is going to be available for live in person classes, but we also are going to stream it live on demand,” she said. The class size will be limited to eight people, COVID safe and unlimited online.
Who’s your ideal client? “Anyone. Classes can be taught in levels. People have the option to bring it down or take it up, depending on their own personal fitness level,” said McCready. “I think it is really important because HIIT is considered a real high intensity program, so we don’t want to scare anybody off. They’re going to be teaching modifications and variations. — It’s adaptable for all levels with modifications.”
The nutrition program is designed to be very flexible. It is a guideline to encourage people to make better choices. “The program is designed to encourage weight loss, to encourage strength, and to tone,” said McCready.
“The timing is perfect because I have had more people come up to me and say, ‘I’m miserable, and I don’t feel good. I have nothing to wear.’ People are so upset with themselves. We want to teach them to love themselves,” she said. “The encouragement is to do the whole program to really see the results. — You can get your head around six weeks — a menu plan, a meal plan and the workouts and full access to the on demand cloud.”
The studio follows all COVID safety precautions with a station to take temperatures and to sign a COVID questionnaire.
